Cup Films started in 2019 to support independent, boundary-pushing short and feature films in Australian cinema, based in Narrm/Melbourne.

We exist to produce short and feature films, filling the crucial gap in support for independent and emerging filmmakers in Australia. Alongside commercial work for clients including Dulux and University of Melbourne.

Our short films have screened everywhere from Melbourne International Film Festival to Flickerfest. We’re currently in development for our first feature film.

SEAMUS MURPHY: Director

Seamus Murphy is a Narrm/Melbourne-based Director, Producer and Screenwriter, and founder of Cup Films. His short films have premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival, won awards at Monster Fest, and have shown at multiple international film festivals. Part of MIFF’s 2019 Accelerator Lab for emerging Australian and New Zealand directors, he’s currently developing a feature film.

TIARNEY MIEKUS: Development

Tiarney Miekus is a Narrm/Melbourne-based development creative with a background in marketing, writing, editorial strategy and storytelling across film, theatre and the arts. She’s skilled in concept refinement and audience engagement, with over a decade of experience working with creatives and arts organisations in developing projects and campaigns that are bold, original and socially attuned.
